Local Board Submissions

It is important that you file a submission with your local Board to highlight your value, to not just your members but as a community asset.

  • Refer to your services and the opportunities offered to members and visitors

  • Highlight the fact that your members come, not just from the community, but are Auckland wide.

  • Highlight the care and maintenance of your facilities and the surrounding area by your members and over which the public have access

  • Refer to the use of your facilities and who uses them as a Community Asset and at no cost the the Council.

  • But for which you pay a rental. (Refer to if you think your lease is high & ignore if you are still lucky enough to be on a "peppercorn" rental!)

Clubs and their facilities need to be recognised by the Local Boards as valuable community sport & recreational assets that serve the wider Auckland public.

This is your opportunity to register your worth and peg your claim on that valuable foreshore land of which the Council's planning, environment and parks committee stated: "Coastal Lands are increasingly attractive for Alternative Development".
