An Update and in support of the Little Shoal Bay Boat Owners Association

Ahoy All,
It's that time of year again and the boats need some love!

With the Little Shoal Bay Boat Owners Association currently having no license to occupy the boatyard area, we will be operating from the club mooring (LZ062) on the mud flat in the bay.

Per Auckland Council's 'Clean Boating' document we are permitted (and encouraged) to clean level 1 & 2 bio fouling from hulls. Any more severe bio-fouling will require photographs for BioSecurity NZ, drop sheets for collection and supervision from the yard captain, as we must adhere to our zero environmental impact policy. Similarly with any maintenance work performed, there must be zero discharges to the environment. That means no grinding or sanding without an approved vacuum capture unit and the scrutiny of the yard captain.

We are also looking at building some pontoons to put on the club mooring in Summer to provide seating on the mudflats when the tide is out and a bombing platform when the tide is in.

If you are interested in becoming a member or renewing your membership in order to use the Associations' facilities or are wanting to support our activities in keeping boats clean for the health of the Hauraki Gulf and improving the amenity value of Little Shoal Bay for everyone, please deposit $25 into the Associations bank account:
