At the end of last year, the Auckland P Class sailing community united to ship 17 P Class yachts to Christchurch for the 2025 Nationals. Spearheaded by Kohimarama Yacht Club, the initiative brought together five Auckland clubs with the shared goal of reducing costs, pooling resources, and making it easier for sailors to compete in the South Island event.
We believe it’s vital for Auckland clubs to collaborate in growing the class and supporting the next generation of sailors. The 17 boats sent south represented a significant portion of the 30-boat fleet, and their participation helped raise the quality and scale of the competition hosted by Charteris Bay Yacht Club.
